11 months old....

Can you believe our little man is 11 months old already!  What an awesome journey God has allowed us to travel.  It has not been with out it's pot holes but every trial we have faced has been so worth it when I look at that sweet little man.

We are busy, busy, busy!  We are in football season, getting ready for a 1st Birthday Party, and our second Halloween.  I am so excited about Jake's birthday and his first real time to trick or treat.  Last year in Iowa he did dress up and get out on Halloween but this year will be a blast!  No decision for sure yet on a costume but it doesn't matter because he will be a doll no matter what he wears!

Jake is almost walking!  He could actually walk if he would just trust himself and get the nerve up.  He can stand up and squat down with out holding on and walks all of the place if he has something to drag his hand along for security.  Sometimes if you have something that he really wants, like the ice cream Mikey was teasing him with the other night, he will take a step but quickly remembers that he really doesn't want to do that and squats down to crawl.  He is a hot mess!  Such a cutie pie!  Jeff and I are so in love with that little fella!  He is awesome!

Happy Fall Ya'll!

I'm Back

WoW!  What a fast 10 months it has been!  Our little man is so big and smart and sweet....... I could go on and on but you really don't have that much time!  REALLY you don't!  I just can not say enough about our little Jake!  What a sweet, sweet blessing we have been given!

So what has given me the "blogging bug again"??  I am going to be a guest writer on "The R House"!  How exciting!   Mrs. R is a wonderful adoption advocate, a great adoptive Mom of two super cute little boys, and a great (electronic) friend.  She help me through some of the toughest point of our journey whether is was by actually talking to me or by post she had on her site from times she was feeling the same raw emotions.  I am honored to have the opportunity to write our story for all of Mrs. R's fans to read.  Check out her blog (and look for my post this week) at http://www.therhouse.blogspot.com/

In the mean time, look at a picture of my awesome little man!  Isn't he a cutie pie!  We sure do love him!

It is almost time.......

Can you believe our little Jake will be in here in just over a week! Even though I have been waiting to be a Mommie for a lifetime it seems like just yesterday that we started getting ready to greet our little man! We have had a great relationship with Sara and over the last couple of days we have had several prayers answered. I truly believe that this will be a wonderful experience for everyone involved!

I know that it will be very hard on Sara and I am expecting it to be very hard on us as well. We want to be that little boys Mommie and Daddy more than anything in the world but our joy and happiness is not the same for Sara and her family. Even though she is certain about her decision it is still a hard choice to make. It will be a very emotional journey! Please pray for us and for Sara and her family as we begin the process of the birth and then the relinquishment's.

We are expecting to stay in touch with Sara and her family and we will have an open adoption. We all feel like this is the best option for Jake and for everyone involved. Jake will have two families that love him and support him. How lucky could any little boy be! We have already accepted Sara and Dusti into our family and we are so thankful for their friendship! They are awesome people and we love them so much!

Jake will be here for sure next Thursday - in just 8 short days! It is hard to believe. We will travel to Iowa starting next Monday. We will spend the night somewhere along the way and make the rest of the journey on Tuesday. We will meet with our attorney in Iowa on Wednesday and then we will meet Jake on Thursday! YEAH! We will see Sara and Dusti as much as possible while we are in town and we are planning on spending alot of time helping Sara with Dusti after the birth. Dusti is 2 going on 22 so she can be a hand full but she is so sweet and funny!

We still have so much to do to get ready to leave for two weeks. We have been off schedule for about a month or so just trying to spend every moment getting the house ready for a baby and getting his things together! I am looking forward to getting home and settling back into a normal routine.

Please pray for my friends at The R House. They will be in court tomorrow (I believe it is at 10:15 MT) for the judges decision in their custody battle. It will be a hard day for them tomorrow and they need all of the prayers they can get!

Also, keep Jeff, me, Sara, Dusti, Gloria, and our families in our prayers. We will have a wonderful but tough week next week! We will need strength and courage beyond belief!

Check back next Thursday for pictures of Jake! I am sure there will be many!

It's almost time

Can you believe just 4 weeks from tomorrow until our little man Jake gets here? Sara is scheduled for a c-section on October 22. It seems like just yesterday that we were waiting to be matched and meeting Sara. We first met Sara in May but it seems like we have know her forever in some ways and like we just met in others.

We have the nursery ready, the bottles are washed, the diapers are purchased! We are getting ready! I have my first shower scheduled for this Sunday! I am so excited! Our good friends Jim and Stacey (they belong to our little friend Chloe) are having the shower for me and Jeff. Actually Jeff and Jim are going to watch the race while the women have a baby shower. It will be BIG fun!

We have almost all of the details of the birth plan in place. We are just trying to finish up the final finishing touches.

Please pray for us! It is coming up to a very stressful time for everyone involved! No matter what the situation is going into the actual birth is very hard on everyone involved! Pray for strength for Jeff, me, Sara, and Gloria (our case worker).

An update on our friends at The R House - the judge did not rule on their case Friday. By Utah law he has 60 days (I believe it is 60 it may be 90) to issue a judgment. Then either side has 15 days to appeal if they loose. Please continue to pray for the R House and for G Baby! www.therhouse.blogspot.com

Jake will be here before you can turn around! YEA!

Prayer Request

Not much time to update lately...... We are busy getting ready for our little man Jake. To say we are excited is an understatement. God is a GOOOOD God and things are going great! We have had some awesome prayers answered this week. Can't really go into detail right now but just know that your prayers are being heard and answered. God is watching over everyone involved in this adoption. Jake has been and will be a bless little fella!

I promise I will update more in detail soon!

Today I wanted to ask everyone to pray for my friend's at the R House (www.therhouse.blogspot.com). They go to court today to fight for their little man Gavin in a contested adoption. Go to their website and read their story of great faith and courage. Pray for Mrs. R, Mr. R, Joniece, Gavin, Tyson, and their entire families.

Just a quick note about their struggle (and I am not certain about the particulars) - Gavin was place with the R's at birth by Joneice (his birth mother) and at some point the birth father (and his mother) mother decided to contest the adoption. Joneice is certain that God meant for her to place Gavin with the R's and has no doubt. She will be testifying for the R's today - is that not AWESOME! She has Gavin's best interest at heart and this story is what open adoption is all about - a lot of people loving the same little person and doing what is best and right for their well being! The R's have tried to reach out to the birth father but so far have been unsuccessful.

I love you Mrs. R - you are in inspiration and have taught me so much even from far, far away! Keep you chin up, pray hard, and believe! We are praying for you extra hard today!

Update

I know it has been awhile but there is really nothing new happening on the adoption front. We are still in touch with Sara and talk to her often. We are planning a trip to meet her in person at the end of this month. Just a chance to get together before Jake is born and get to know each other in person before we are in a hospital having a baby together. Sara is wonderful and we are enjoying getting to know her. We are looking forward to our trip to meet her very much!

We have had a lot going on though! Our last couple of weekends have been crazy to say the least! We had a family reunion out of town, our car got broken into the Saturday night before Fathers Day (that was a huge mess that took days to get every thing taken care of), of course my cousin Robbie died, and several other things have been going on. It has been several weeks since we have had a "normal" weekend. We actually did NOTHING this weekend and it was nice! We stayed at home last night and watch TV, got up this morning and went to church, ate lunch after church, came home and took naps, and then went swimming at our friends Big Eds. It has been a great weekend!

It was very nice to get back in the routine and especially nice to be back in church after several weeks of being out. Although we were late and sat in the balcony I was happy to be back! I am happy to be back in the routine of things. Everyone keeps saying that the baby will change everything and I am sure that is true but it is a change we are so looking forward to! This run of "happenings" lately has become almost to much! I am ready to be boring and predictible again!
